The material of the concert is the first part of an album trilogy from the end of the millennium. It was inspired by the 500 year old series of prints from Albrecht Dürer, which is the illustration of the Bible’s Book of Revelation. Big renaissance pieces, gregorian theses, and for the ensemble’s order, contemporary pieces composed by Bánk Sáry accompany the images. These three layers complete the thematic concept.
The Voces Aequales singing ensemble was founded in 1993 by six men aiming to sound renaissance, within that primarily religious pieces. Since then, they’ve been giving concerts Hungary- and Europe-wide. The ensemble’s purpose is not only the understandable voicing of the pieces, but with their program they also aim to translate a greater massage to the audience.
