Hailing from Budapest, Hungary, melodic hardcore/metalcore band Satelles is preparing for its only solo concert this year. The band, which is preparing to release a new EP, will be accompanied by their friends Havária, Wishes and VLKN on the 27th of September in the small hall of the Dürer Kert.
Three years after the release of their latest full-length, '3AM Confessions', Satelles returned to the studio in May to record their four-track EP 'Arcadia'. The title of the release also refers to the Arcadia trials, to revisit the concept of homeland by the means of a utopia to be created, or perhaps a community operating based on barbaric rules. But most importantly, to ask the question about our own responsibility between the two boundaries. The crowdfunded release was recorded with Mátyás Botlik at the end of May, mixed by Andreas Magnusson (Twelve Tribes, Despised Icon), and mastered by Alan Douches (Converge, The Dillinger Escape Plan), just like the last record. At the September concert they will surely show a new song.
Havária is also preparing for its only concert this year: the blackened punk/metal duo last heard of themselves at the very beginning of 2023 under the title 'Megbánás' ('Regret'), and in addition to their three own tracks, a Dawncore cover was also included on the album. The band, which has been active since 2018, has switched to a darker and more ominous tone with each release, and in the small hall of Dürer Kert they will be showcasing their entire oeuvre.
When it comes to activity, Wishes can't complain at all, since the melodic hardcore band, which has been with a new singer since last summer, also played before Comeback Kid, and last spring they released a new single called 'The Split'. Reinvigorated with vocalist Bence Varga (ex-Have No Clue), the band is constantly working on new songs, while they also have quite a few festival and club concerts planned for the summer.
VLKN released their new album at the beginning of this year under the digital care of Earache Records: in the songs of 'First Sparks of Eternal Decay', Scandinavian crust/d-beat traditions meet the distance of black metal, and on the album Gábor Tóth (Harmed) and Dávid Makó (The Devil's Trade) also contributes. The band already conducted a European album presentation tour at the beginning of the year, and they were also able to play in Budapest before Ancst, and the current Dürer Kert show will be preceded by further, soon-to-be-announced European dates.
