The musicians of Sadness come from Baltimore’s hardcore, punk, screamo and sludge metal bands, coming together in Damián Antón Ojeda’s project, which he started in 2014. The Mexican-American Ojeda is also active in several other musical projects, but Sadness takes a distinctly different direction. Their music brings together emotional shoegaze melodies, the spaciousness of post-rock and the weight of black metal.

Since 2014, the project has released more than 50 albums and EPs, including I Want to Be There, one of Sadness’ most widely discussed releases.
