Simon Kornél and the Boughris

Simon Kornél and the Boughris is a band that straddles the line between alternative rock and theater, performing with outspoken, socially critical lyrics and intense stage energy. Frontman Simon Kornél is a well-known actor and director who, together with the band, has created a production where the songs become a story and the stage a living train of thought.

The band’s music blends the grotesque with the pulse of contemporary alternative rock, while their lyrics explore themes of human frailty, power, faith, and identity.

Their first album, Fedél nélkül (2024), presented the world of the outcasts with raw honesty, while their second, Az ostobák magabiztossága (2025), examines the relationship between power and ignorance in an ironic and lyrical tone. Boughris’s live concerts push the boundaries of what is traditionally considered a “performance”: they are both musical events and theatrical experiences.
