On November 8, Momoko Gill, one of the most exciting and hardest-to-categorize artists on the British jazz scene, will arrive in Budapest.

The multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and producer will perform songs from her debut solo album, Momoko, released earlier this year, marking her first-ever concert in Hungary. While she has previously been known primarily through collaborations with artists such as Alabaster DePlume, Matthew Herbert, Shabaka Hutchings and Tirzah, this time the focus will be entirely on her own musical world.

The album reveals a more personal, organic and above all jazz-oriented side of Gill, drawing on the influences of soul and jazz in her work as a vocalist, while her drumming incorporates elements of broken beat and experimental music. The result is a dynamic, at times meditative, freely flowing and deeply captivating musical experience.
