Armenian David Yengibarian continued his musical studies in Hungary from 1995, where he eventually became one of the most sought-after jazz and world music performers and composers. He has released seven albums of his own and composed numerous theater and film scores. The main sources of inspiration for his unique musical world, inspired by folk music, are Armenian musical traditions, European and American jazz and improvisational music, Argentine tango, and the music of Astor Piazzolla, who revitalized it. Yengibarian's trio is characterized by an improvisational, evocative, and emotional performance style.
In recent years, they have performed with several prominent Hungarian and foreign guests, such as Miklós Lukács, Tony Lakatos, and Gevorg Dabaghyan. In the summer of 2023, they gave a successful concert before Norah Jones as part of the Veszprémfest festival. The backbone of their repertoire consists of their own compositions, but Balkan or Latin songs may also be heard during the evening.
The members of the David Yengibarian Trio: David Yengibarian – accordion, Árpád Vajdovich – bass guitar, Márk Badics – drums. At this concert, we will be celebrating David Yengibarian's 50th birthday!
