During this one-week camp, participants will explore linocut and woodcut printmaking techniques and deepen their existing skills. The workshop leaders, Ivor Almásy and Péter Gallov, present the artistic possibilities of these processes through the living, contemporary application of traditional technologies. In addition to carving and printing, the course also covers tool maintenance and sharpening.

The program is open to both beginners and advanced participants who would like to deepen their knowledge of linocut and woodcut techniques or try new printmaking processes.

Artists Almásy Ivor and Gallov Péter, who teach traditional techniques from a contemporary perspective.

What is a typical day like?

Each day includes two guided workshop sessions (2 × 2 hours), with free time for independent work, swimming, hiking, or relaxation.

Will there be guest speakers?

Yes — invited guest artists will give public talks during the week.

How many participants can join?

The camp runs with a minimum of 6 and a maximum of 10 participants.

How much does participation cost?

Early bird price: 90,000 HUF until the end of March, after which the regular participation fee is 110,000 HUF.

The price includes all materials (printing papers, inks, linoleum, copper and wood), the use of professional equipment (two-roller intaglio press, wood and linoleum carving tools, wood- and copper-working cutting and sanding tools), as well as the workshop leaders’ fees and all related administrative and organizational costs. The participation fee does not include accommodation or meals.

Is accommodation available?

Yes, on request: HUF 4,000 + HUF 500 tourist tax per night per participant.

What happens at the end of the camp?

The week concludes with a final exhibition showcasing the participants’ work.
