Az Artist’s Model című előadásban Sarah Friend egy generatív képkészítő modellt állít színpadra előadóként, tanárként és kiszámíthatatlan idegenvezetőként. A promptok és a kulcsszavak világában otthonosan mozgó modell könnyedén beszél a számítógépes nyelven, de megbicsaklik, amikor a művészeti világ ellentmondásaival találja szemben magát. A közönséget egy negyvenperces játékos múzeumtúra keretében vezeti végig az elmúlt 40 000 év művészettörténetén — egy ingatag narratíván, ami a közönség részvételével újra és újra átíródik.
Friend előadása nem válaszokat keres inkább repedéseket tár fel: Hogyan döntjük el, mi kerül be a múzeumokba? Miért őrizzük meg ott ezeket a dolgokat? Ki fizet ezért? És mi is egy műalkotás végső soron?

What happens when an algorithm begins to ask questions of culture itself?
In Artist’s Model, Sarah Friend stages a generative image-making model as performer, lecturer, and unreliable guide. Fluent in the grammar of prompts and keyword padding, the model speaks with ease in the language of computation but falters when confronted with the contradictions of the art world. Over forty minutes, the audience is led through a game-like museum tour spanning 40,000 years of art history—an unstable narrative that reshapes itself through participation.
Friend’s performance is less about supplying answers than exposing fault lines: How do we decide what belongs in museums? Why do we keep it there? Who pays for it? And what, ultimately, is an artwork?
Sarah Friend (b. Canada; lives and works in Berlin) is an artist, researcher, and software developer. Since 2023, she has been developing a body of work that explores machine learning and its relationship to her image. Beginning first with Untitled (2023), a video that imagines the artist’s alter ego as an Instagram influencer and NSFW content creator, followed by Prompt Baby (2024-ongoing), an edition of 69 prompt credits and loading screens that allow each collector to submit a prompt to the artist. If accepted, their screen will be updated with the result of their prompt. Artist’s Model is the third project in this series.
The event concludes with a Q&A with the artist, followed by a visit to BINÁLÉ exhibition at Merlin.
