It wasn’t part of the plan, but our next concert falls on Halloween. Instead of a horror theme, we’ll stick with jack-o’-lanterns—or rather, pumpkins—which fits the theme perfectly because one of the stars of our concerts, the Sursingar, has just been revamped: it got a new pumpkin resonator (tumba)—and not just any tumba. A large Rudra Veena tumba recently arrived straight from India, and we spent the beginning of October setting it up. The revamped instrument will make its debut at this concert!

But that won’t be the only special feature of this concert! László Klimó, one of Hungary’s veterans of Indian classical music, will be the guest performer—and he’ll be playing not the sitar, but a slide guitar he designed himself.
