The legend began with Henrik Kugler in 1858, and then became world-famous by Emil Gerbeaud, a confectioner and chocolate master of Swiss origin, who took over the operation of the confectionery-café from 1882. It is richly decorated, and within its walls special and traditional desserts are made exclusively from high-quality, fresh ingredients and artisanal.
