We've designed a two-day program centered entirely around the fascinating theme of the doromb. Join us as we craft this unique instrument together, learn to play it, and immerse ourselves in performances by talented artists from around the globe.

Come be a part of the resonance with the Earth!

Our first featured performer at the Dorombuli festival is the multi-talented Yaroslav Nevertii. He's not only a geographer and etymologist but also a renowned artist skilled in crafting numerous musical instruments. Yaroslav's goal is to convey the divine vibrations found in all living beings through his captivating performances.

Following Yaroslav, we'll be graced by Catlin Magi, a prominent figure in Estonian traditional folk music. Catlin, a world-renowned performer and teacher, will lead us on an enlightening journey into the world of Baltic traditional folk music. This musical exploration will be accompanied by the enchanting sounds of the doromb and the Estonian bagpipe.

Taking the stage after Catlin is Sára Dizna Kovács, a graduate of the Liszt Academy of Music. She's a versatile musician who will showcase her talent with a wide array of wind instruments, including the Japanese shakuhachi, Indian bansuri, Australian didgeridoo, melodica, and her captivating singing.

As the evening continues, we'll groove to the eclectic sounds of the Slovakian ensemble Kapre. Their music seamlessly blends elements from classic rock, jazz, psytrance, ethnic, and world music, creating a truly unique sonic experience.

To cap off the day, Czech DJ Tod will take over, bringing funky beats, groovy rhythms, and psychedelic bass to the dancefloor. His sets promise to keep the energy high and the spirits lifted.

Sunday's program promises a day filled with enchanting music and vibrant performances:

We kick off the day with the Doromb Trio of Révülés, who will take us on a musical journey through the Carpathian Basin. Their unique sound world is enriched by the powerful, ancient doromb instrument, creating a captivating experience.

Next, Andrea Szabadi, a talented musician and yoga instructor known for the healing power of music, will grace the stage. Andrea's performances and mantra singing workshops are inspired by the belief that music can heal and uplift. Her music is a celebration and a prayer that invites everyone to join in.

Transitioning from soft sounds to high-energy beats, we have the one-man band, Ataya, hailing from Australia. Ataya specializes in delivering fully improvised techno and trance performances that are designed to celebrate life together, promising an energetic and exhilarating experience.

Following Ataya, we have a collaborative performance by Varkocs and Didier Rabl. Varkocs exclusively plays traditional Hungarian and Slovak instruments, with the doromb taking center stage. Their music repertoire consists mainly of folk songs that have been preserved from the mists of time. Didier, credited with founding the Doromb festival, brings his unique touch to the instrument, making his performances truly exceptional.

To close out the year, we have a surprise performer who will host a New Year's Eve-worthy party. DJ Morze will bring the event to a grand finale with their electrifying tunes.

During the Dorombuli 2023 festival it is possible to book a room in the Királyréti Hunting Lodge, which is the venue of the event, and we can provide three meals a day on request.
